Although we limit access to certain pages and you may set certain privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Websites with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Information We Collect From Third Parties

We may obtain information from other sources. For example, we may collect information from advertising networks, data analytics providers, operating systems and platforms, mailing list providers, social networks, business partners, third-party integrations, and other advertising partners. This information includes your contact information.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Details of your visits to our Websites, including about the device and network you use, such as your hardware model, operating system version, mobile network, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, unique device identifiers, and browser type. We also collect information about your activity on our Websites, such as access times, pages viewed, links clicked, and the page you visited before navigating to our Websites.
  • Your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking). Click here for information on how you can opt out of behavioral tracking on our Websites and how we respond to web browser signals and other mechanisms that enable consumers to exercise choice about behavioral tracking.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our Websites. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Websites.
  • Flash Cookies. Certain features of our Websites may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on our Websites. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies. For information about managing your privacy and security settings for Flash cookies, see Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.
  • Web Beacons. Pages of our Websites and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit CareVet, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).

Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on our Websites are served by third parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our Websites. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. For information about how you can opt out of receiving targeted advertising from many providers, see Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose information in an aggregated, anonymized, and/or de-identified form that cannot reasonably be used to identify any individual, without restriction.

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your personal information as long as needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. We will retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our business requirements, legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our assets, and enforce our rights and agreements.

Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To learn how you can manage your Flash cookie settings, visit the Flash player settings page on Adobe’s website. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of our Websites may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising. If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third parties for promotional purposes, you can opt-out by emailing us at privacy@carevethealth.com.
  • Promotional Offers from the Company. If you do not wish to have your email address or contact information used by CareVet to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by sending us an email stating your request to privacy@carevethealth.com. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may follow the instructions in the email to unsubscribe or send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. If you opt out, you may still receive non-promotional emails, such as those about your account (if applicable) or our ongoing business relations.
  • Text Marketing. With your permission, we may send text messages about our company, new products or services, and other updates. You may opt-out of these messages by following the instructions in those communications.
  • Targeted Advertising. If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements according to our advertisers’ target-audience preferences, you can opt-out by sending us an email stating your request to privacy@carevethealth.com.
  • Do Not Track. Some browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” features. Most of these features, when turned on, send a signal or preference to the websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret the do not track signal, we currently do not respond to the browser do not track signals.

We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website.

We may provide links to other third-party websites and services that are outside our control and not covered by this Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy statements and policies posted on the websites you visit.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on this Website or through any of its features. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Data Security

Keeping your information safe is important to us. We maintain reasonable technical, physical, and administrative security measures designed to provide reasonable protection for your information that we collect against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Websites. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on our Websites.

If we make material changes to how we treat personal information, we will notify you by email to an email address specified in your account, if any, and/or through a notice on our Websites. California Policy Prevails Over General Policy

For California consumers, the provisions of this CCPA Privacy Notice for California Residents prevail over any conflicting provisions of this privacy policy. We adopt this section of our privacy policy to comply with the CCPA. Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this section.

California Shine the Light

Residents of the State of California, under California Civil Code § 1798.83, have the right to request from companies conducting business in California a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed personal information during the preceding year for direct marketing purposes. Alternatively, the law provides that if the company has a privacy policy that gives either an opt-out or opt-in choice for use of your personal information by third parties (such as advertisers) for marketing purposes, the company may instead provide you with information on how to exercise your disclosure choice options.

We qualify for the alternative option. We have a comprehensive privacy policy, and provide you with details on how you may either opt-out or opt-in to the use of your personal information by third parties for direct marketing purposes. Therefore, we are not required to maintain or disclose a list of the third parties that received your personal information for marketing purposes during the preceding year.

Your Privacy Rights

Residents of some states CCPA can make certain requests regarding their personal information. Subject to certain limitations and exceptions, we will fulfill each of these requests to the extent required by law.

  • Right to Confirm Processing, Know, and Access. You can ask us what personal information we have about you, including a list of categories of your personal information that we have sold and a list of categories of your personal information that we have shared with another company for a business purpose.
    • You can ask us to provide you with this information up to two times in a rolling twelve-month period. When you make this request, the information provided may be limited to personal information we collected about you in the previous 12 months.
  • Right to Delete. You can ask us to delete your personal information.
    • Once we receive a request, we will delete the personal information (to the extent required by law) we hold about you as of the date of your request from our records and direct any service providers to do the same. In some cases, deletion may be accomplished through de-identification of the information. Choosing to delete your personal information may impact your ability to use our website and online features.
  • Right to Correct. You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Profiling. You have the right to opt out of the processing of your personal information for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. Please note that we do not engage in such profiling activities and therefore you do not need to take any further action.
  • Right to Appeal. If we decline to take action in response to your exercise of a privacy right, we will inform you of the reason for denying your request and provide you instructions on how to appeal the decision.
  • Rights Related to Sensitive Personal Information. Because we do not collect your sensitive personal information, we do not offer a limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information right.
  • No Discrimination. You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of your privacy rights. This includes us not: (a) denying you goods or services; (b) charging you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through the use of discounts or other benefits or imposing penalties; (c) providing you a different level or quality of goods or services; (d) suggesting to you that you will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services; and (e) retaliating against you for exercising your privacy rights.
  • List of Specific Third Parties. You have the right, at our option, to receive a list of the specific third parties, other than natural persons, to which we have disclosed either: (1) your personal information or (2) any personal information.
  • Opt-Out of the Sale or Sharing of Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share personal information within our family of businesses and with certain third parties, which may be considered a “sale” under California law even if we don’t receive money in exchange for the information. For purposes of California law, we may share with these parties all categories of personal information listed in the Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It section above

You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. Under certain state data privacy laws, when you use our Website, any authorized advertising partners may collect cookies and similar technologies for their own purposes and this activity may qualify as a “sale” under these laws. You can make choices to allow or prevent such uses. To opt-out of our making information relating to cookies, and similar technologies, available to third parties for their own purposes email us at privacy@carevethealth.com or click on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of our Website.

You may also opt-out of the sale of your personal information or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising by clicking on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link or emailing us at privacy@carevethealth.com. If we receive your request from an authorized agent, we may ask for evidence that you have provided such agent with a power of attorney or that the agent otherwise has valid written authority to submit requests to exercise rights on your behalf. If you are an authorized agent seeking to make a request, please contact us at privacy@carevethealth.com.
